Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com In recent years, the CCP frequently conflicted with Japan, Vietnam and Philippines on sovereignty over sea areas. The situation had once been tense with the CCP and its neighbouring countries, at daggers drawn. On the other hand, the power struggle inside the CCP also becomes increasingly fierce. There have been rumors mentioning Hu Jintao will stay on as Chairman of the Central Military Commission for another two years, after the 18th National Congress. Recent reports from Hong Kong media believe that, the tensions between China and neighbouring countries, has provided excuses for Hu to stay longer as the military head. According to HK Ming Pao, as the tension over the South China Sea and Diao Yu (Uotsuri Jima) Islands increased, there was a decent chance some military clashes would break out; this has placed even more pressure upon CCP's Central Military Commission (CMC). Ming Pao believes, such situations have provided Hu Jintao great reason for staying on as Chairman of the CMC, once retired from post of CCP general secretary and president of China. Hu Ping, Chief Editor of Beijing Spring magazine, told NTD that, the CCP was only bluffing by making small conflicts, while it wouldn't really initiate war; therefore the tension had little to do with Hu's stay as Chairman of the CMC. However, if clashes really break out, Hu's control over the army as the military head would be significantly ...

Land Privatization Can Stall Rising House Prices in China

Posted: 22 Jul 2012 07:02 PM PDT

Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com In some cities, property value in China has consistently risen, and has hit new records, both in sales volume and prices. The Land & Resources Ministry and Housing Ministry of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime has jointly issued an urgent notice on tightening real estate control. This was the ninth official action in the last two months attempting to curb the property market. Professional observers say that land privatization is the most effective way to pull down housing prices. Latest official data shows a month-on-month increase in housing prices in 25 cities this June. Related high-level CCP authorities, including Housing Ministry, the Reform Commission, Central bank, and the Land & Resources Ministry have all lined up to support control of real estate. On July 7, Wen Jiabao claimed to create a long-term policy to curb speculative demand in the real estate market. He Junqiao, a Business Consultant, China: "If it doesn't curb soaring housing prices, an Asian financial crisis would recur. That's a serious aftermath that the central authorities have realized." However, He Junqiao says that the CCP regime is not truly aiming to tame housing prices in China. He Junqiao: "I don't think the official tight control plans are really intended to curb housing prices. Nor are they to suppress the overheated real estate market in China. We all know if the property market stops and plummets like the stock ...

First Anniversary of Wenzhou Train Collision: Officials Indifferent, People Concerned

Posted: 22 Jul 2012 06:58 PM PDT

It has been a year since the train collision in Wenzhou, in which over 200 people lost their lives, or were injured. The train wreckage, covered with dirt, still stands in the southern station of Wenzhou. However, official CCP media have already forgotten the tragedy. China's authorities have again banned all media coverage of the first anniversary of the collision. Nevertheless, people held many memorial activities in China. Some commentators think that the CCP's authoritarian regime has caused too many tragedies in China. The CCP's senior authorities are already in the fear of being exposed and punished. At 8:30pm on July 23, 2011, a high-speed train crash killed 40 people, and injured over 200, near Wenzhou City, China. The accident took place when the high-speed train D3115 was allegedly hit by lightning and lost control. It was then struck from the rear by another bullet train D301. The first train was running from the provincial capital Hangzhou to the southeastern city of Fuzhou. The second train was traveling from Beijing to Fuzhou. Soon after the accident, all media stood up and criticized China's Ministry of Railways. At the end of July 2011, the Communist Party's Propaganda Department banned all media coverage of the collision. It asked media to quote only official news. Now, at the timing of the first anniversary of the collision, China's official newspaper stayed silent about the tragedy. As disclosed by the International Federation of Journalists, China's ...

Communist Regime Internal Regulatory Document Lists 13 Censored Topics

Posted: 22 Jul 2012 06:55 PM PDT

Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com As the 18th National Congress approaches, the Communist regime carries out frequent purging activities against the media. For days, outspoken media in Guangdong and Shanghai experienced sequential shocks from the authorities. Among them, the Nanfang Daily Press Group received regulatory documents listing 13 censored topics after submitting up to 17 self-critique reports to the Central Propaganda Department around June 4 (Tiananmen Movement memorial). This stability maintenance initiative prior to the National Congress further confirms the so-called political reform is only an empty promise of the Communist regime. This May, Yang Jian, Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of Guangdong, became the first Party Secretary of the Nanfang Daily Press Group promoted from elsewhere. Hong Kong's Ming Pao Daily News reported that as the Party Secretary, Yang Jian quickly ordered review processes of three newspapers and two magazines under the Nanfang Daily Press Group. The "review" process refers to the internal censorship controlled by an appointed person. Prior to this, only two newspapers, the Southern Weekend and Southern Metropolis Daily, were under regulation. Guangdong political commentary writer, Zhu Jianguo: "The upcoming 18th National Congress and the increasing social conflict under the severely damaged economy in Guangdong have led to the escalated suppress of the media. The democracy and ...

Posted: 20 Jul 2012 04:47 AM PDT

A woman in China narrowly escaped being crushed by a lorry in Ningbo, in the country's eastern Zhejiang province. State television on Thursday broadcast footage filmed recently by traffic cameras, showing the truck smashing into the woman as she crossed a busy road. Police told state TV that the accident happened because the woman ignored a red light as she made her way across the junction in the city's Beilun district. They said the trucker was also to blame, as he accelerated his vehicle to speed through the traffic light just before it turned red.
