On Monday, a whistleblower told the Beijing Times that Gong had four IDs and four hukou, including one near the Olympic Park in Beijing. Gong told Xinhua News Agency on Friday that she forged her ID for "superstitious reasons". She also said the money used to buy properties was from her family's coal business. The China Banking Regulatory Commission's branch in Shaanxi is reviewing Gong's financial records while she served as a deputy chief in the Shenmu bank. The bank said it dismissed her on Saturday, but Gong claims that she had resigned in June. Go to www.bon.tv to watch the full episode Every year, with the approach of Spring Festival, there seem to be battles between migrant workers and their bosses concerning unpaid wages. They often seem to involve outraged workers storming office buildings and triggering brawls but, this year, a group of construction workers in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, chose a more peaceful way - they danced Gangnam Style. Headed by their team leader surnamed Lu, the group were seen dancing in front of a music club in the city's Dongxihu District, attracting a crowd of passers-by, yesterday's Wuhan Evening News reported. To lessen their anger and frustration, Lu paid the workers more than 10000 yuan out of his own pocket, but the boss was refusing to answer his phone or repay him the money, he said. After the dance performance, a manager surnamed Xiao said: "I will call the quality supervision authority to check. If the building passes the check, I will pay all of the money."

China's traditional corn popper hot - China Take - January 24,2013 - BONTV China

Posted: 24 Jan 2013 07:32 PM PST

Go to bon.tv to watch the full episode The traditional corn popper here is a rather ingenious machine still used on the streets of China to make popcorn today. And the reason it's become so popular online is that it was recently featured on the US TV series Mythbusters. The show's hosts wanted to test claims that this was the fastest method to cook popcorn. But after ranslating the instructions they were a little nervous about the way the gadget works -- it uses heat to create pressure in a metal container and then pops the corn explosively once the pressure is released. Much to the amusement of Chinese net users, the Americans took meticulous safety precautions -- even using bomb disposal equipment to protect themselves before daring to try out the device. And here's the result...in the end not as fast as cooking in oil over a burner -- still, far more spectacular. But is it really so dangerous? Well not if this veteran Chinese corn popper's attitude is anything to go by. This is how the experts do it.... See easy - no fuss no mess!
