The report describes China as a "country of dictatorship" and categorizes the human rights situation in China as "extremely badly" -- in fact these are very similar to the words the report also uses for countries like Iran and North Korea. China's state-owned newspaper People's Daily swiftly published an article rejecting the report and replied with the usual retort that western countries always try to interfere in other countries' internal affairs in the name of human rights and warned the Chinese people to be on the alert for these tactics.

He presents a talk show called Dialogue, on CCTV news -- a state run English language channel -- in which foreigners and Chinese guest discuss various current affairs topics. In a recent rate post on his personal microblog account -- Weibo -- Yang upset many foreigners - and Chinese net users - with what many criticized as a xenophobic rant. He called, for China's Public Security to "throw out foreign trash", accused some foreigners of coming to China "to grab our money, engage in human trafficking and spread deceitful lies"; and most controversially seemed to take pride in the de facto expulsion of a respected foreign journalist -- Melissa Chan by saying: " We kicked out that foreign bitch and closed Al-Jazeera's Beijing bureau. A homeless dog by the name of Xiao Sa, has been following a team of cyclists for 24 days along 1833 kilometers of highway from Kangding, Sichuan province, to Lhasa in Tibet. Nobody knows where the white dog came from or how long she has been straying on the highway .Netizens call her the "dog with determination" and the micro blog "Go Go Xiao Sa" recording her life has attracted more than 37000 followers in two weeks. A picture of Xiao Sa in the arms of a young man in front of the Potala Palace on Thursday night drew more than 4000 comments congratulating the small dog and expressing dreams of going to Lhasa. The young man in the picture is Zhang Heng, , a 22yr old student in Wuhan, Hubei province. He took on the trip to llahsa as a challenge after his graduation. On the way he met a lone dog and said "She was lying, tired, on the street around Yajiang, Sichuan province," . "So we fed her, and then she followed our team. They thought she was following for fun, but found she insisted on sticking around them day and night. A week later, Zhang and his buddies opened a micro blog account for her. They created the name Xiao Sa by combining xiao meaning "little" with the last syllable of Lhasa. During their journey, Xiao Sa, Zhang and his team covered more than 1700 kilometers and climbed 10 mountains higher than 4000 meters. Many other people cycling this road had learned of the dog.
