Liu Zhijun's Downfall—Catalyst to Ridding Zhou Yongkang

Posted: 29 May 2012 06:09 PM PDT

Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com The Chinese Communist Party(CCP)'s ex-Railway Minister Liu Zhijun was formally expelled from the Party and transferred to judicial organs on May 28. Analysts say the Railway Ministry has always been controlled by Jiang's clique. Hu and Wen's repeated axing of Liu Zhijun and the head of high-speed rail projects, Zhang Shuguang, can be deemed the catalyst frustrating the forces headed by Jiang Zemin and Zhou Yongkang, ahead of the CCP's 18th Congress. On May 28, China's media reported that Liu Zhijun, the CCP's ex-Railway Minister, was ousted from the Party for his severe disciplinary violation and has been transferred to judicial organs on suspicion of crime. Liu had promoted major expansions in railway construction since being appointed as Railway Minister in 2003. Within 5 years China had built the world's largest high-speed rail system—it was China's "Railway Great Leap Forward". China's railway sector owns its own independent courts, policemen, and enterprises—an "independent kingdom". However, corruption within the independent railway system became exposed, after the Wenzhou Train Crash incident. Critic Hong Jian says the CCP officials are all corruptible and the regime uses the "fight against corruption" as a means to "purge internal dissidents and control resources". Hong Jian: "The Railway Ministry, which is controlled by the blood-debt clan, shocked the world for its corruption. The Wenzhou ...

In the biggest procession in Europe on the Pentecost weekend was accompanied by the bishop of Regensburg Gerhard Ludwig Mueller. Tens of thousand of onlookers lined the way to get a glimpse of the horses which were decorated elaborately and the horsemen in traditional costumes. The pilgrimage led from Bad Koetzting to a church in Steinbuehl about seven kilometers away. [Wolfgang Ludwig, Mayor of Bad Koetzting]: "The ride is extraordinary if the weather plays along. And the impressions when we ride through the beautiful Bavarian countryside, that is a very good feeling." According to the legend in 1412 a priest was to bring the sacrament to a dying man in the tiny church in nearby Steinbuehl. Since bandits lurked along the way, some young men from the village protected the priest on horseback. After the successful journey, the lads vowed to undertake the journey annually. Women are not allowed to take part in the procession. Pentecost is a prominent holiday in the Christian calendar, commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the remaining eleven Apostles of Christ. For this reason, Pentecost is sometimes described as the "Birthday of the Church." Pentecost is celebrated seven weeks (50 days) after Easter Sunday.

For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me As China's communist authorities continue a period of intense political struggle, there have been rumors that major aspects of the Party's political platform are to be reevaluated. Among the most historically significant reforms being called for by some tied with the Party is the re-evaluation of 1989's Tiananmen Square massacre of student protestors. The anniversary of the June 4th, 1989 massacre of protesting students in Tiananmen Square is once again approaching. Accurate historical accounts of the massacre have long been censored in mainland China, where the events are a major politically sensitive issue. This year is seen as especially significant, as the Communist Party is in the midst of a once-in-a-decade leadership transition—one that has been marked with explosive political developments, widely reported to reflect intense struggles at the Party's highest levels. Many inside and outside the Party have proposed specific political reforms. According to some Chinese news sites, there are even plans circulating to "rehabilitate" the 1989 protest movement—a move that would be politically unprecedented as an endorsement of democratic politics. "Li Wei" is the alias of a former Communist Party journalist interviewed by NTD in Hong Kong, where she spoke at the "June Fourth Commemorative Museum", a museum dedicated to exposing the uncensored history of the ...

Chinese Communist Party Expels Former Railways Minister

Posted: 28 May 2012 11:57 PM PDT

For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me The Chinese Communist Party has expelled former railways minister Liu Zhijun. He had been removed from his railways ministry position in February 2011 for "serious disciplinary violations" with allegations of corruption and bribery. His ouster from the Party—announced Monday—indicates that he will almost certainly be convicted in court. Liu was railways minister from 2003 to 2011. He had spearheaded much of China's high-speed rail development. That system came under intense scrutiny last July when a train collision killed 40 people in the city of Wenzhou, raising concerns over safety in track construction and signaling. Liu had already been removed from his position several months before that crash, but he may still be held partially responsible, in particular because in China, politics and public scrutiny can have a major impact on court decisions. Liu had close ties to former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin.

[Xiao Yong, Cyclist and Current Owner of Xiaosa]: "At first we didn't consider keeping it and thought it just wanted to follow us for a while. But it showed a very strong will power and followed us all the way here. There is a steep downhill slope in Litang, so we made a cage for it." Xiaosa ran with the team over a period of 24 days and climbing 10 mountains of altitudes over 10000 feet, a trip that averaged at around 37 miles a day. Xiaosa's determination encouraged the cyclists and kept them going. [Lu Bo, Cyclist]: "The dog was very important to us. It brought us a lot of fun and also gave us a lot of encouragement. For example, when some of us fell behind, it would run down the hill calling for them to follow." Xiao Yong plans to keep Xiaosa. Industrial designer Nimrod Sappir invested his own savings, his family's savings, and took out a bank loan to develop his idea. The project was three and a half years in the making, and the effort is now paying off. The scooter, named "Myway", won the Israeli Ministry of Commerce and Industry's Industrial Design Award. [Nimrod Sappir, Industrial Designer]: "The difference between my scooter and models that exist today is of course the lithium-ion batteries. The whole chassis is built differently, everything is thinner, smaller, and lighter, and folds really fast; you can tuck it into a bag, pull or carry it when you don't need it, and when you do, you just open it and drive." And using the scooter means you can get the whole way from A to B as easily as possible. [Noam Meshulam, Technician]: ... Sisters Grown in Persecution (Part II)

Posted: 28 May 2012 09:47 PM PDT

Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com Last time, 2 sisters—surname 'Lan'—told us how they began practising Falun Dafa in China before moving to Finland. In 1999, pressured by the Chinese Communist Party(CCP)'s nationwide persecution of Falun Gong, the sisters hesitated. How did the sisters make their final choice about practicing Falun Gong, in light of the harsh reality? At this point, Xiao-Lan receives an unexpected letter from Xiao-Li---There are only a few words on the letter: "We are sisters in the family of cultivators—fellow practitioners, I wish you would stand up to validate Dafa!" This reminded Xiao-Lan of the movie, "Jesus", they had both watched, shortly before the CCP started the persecution. Is this persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners not an overwhelming victimization; much the same as what Jesus and his disciples suffered 2000 years ago? Realizing this, Xiao-lan resolutely decided to go to Beijing to petition for Falun Gong. In reality, the CCP regime is much more ferocious than Roman Curia was in the past. The CCP authorities arrested and tortured Xiao-lan, and she went on hunger strikes to resist the persecution. The CCP released the dying Xiao-lan after her 2-month-long hunger strike—her body weight remained near 20kg. The two sisters have limited connection with each other; During their period in China which was full of terror, one day Xiao-lan had suddenly felt a pain in her left arm, and had tried phoning Xiao-li ...
