Environment friendly products are on display at LA Green Festival. It features things such as jewelry and car parts made from natural products like coconut and byproducts of food. Hundreds of vendors and thousands of "green" enthusiasts converged on the Los Angeles Convention Center this weekend. Los Angeles is one of five major cities across the United States holding a "green" festival, which one organizer says may be the biggest ever. The LA Green Festival boasted natural products, like coconut jewelry, as well as byproducts of food made into jewels and even car parts. [Stephanie Yang, DB Aroma]: "We only use the highest quality pure oils inside. This one helps people to stop migraines and headaches." [Alex Frissell, Minijector Employee]: "These pellets are 70 percent wheat straw and 30 percent polypropylene. This machine takes the pellets, and using high pressure heat, will melt them down really quickly." The result is a stronger plastic made from food waste that is now used in Ford doors. The festival allows consumers to taste, touch, and feel, all the newest green products and technologies. Organizers hope the expo will get consumers used to thinking and buying "green." Yu Dan had to make an awkward departure. Some audience members shouted "You cannot represent us!" "We do not need you to represent!" Yu Dan became famous in China for interpreting Confucius' The Analects. Some people think she was booed at for dressing in a mini-skirt, which was not elegant. Others say she should not comment on national level artists. Cultural critic Ye Kuangzheng thinks that Yu Dan was booed not because of what she did or said at that time, but because of what she has said and done before. Ye says it was not the first time Yu Dan has been booed. Not long ago, Yu Dan joined the "Chinese Writers Association," which also attracted people questions. Ye Kuangzheng: "Strictly speaking, Yu Dan became famous in the academic world via TV. Her interactions with the media expose her loss of independence and critical spirit as an intellectual.
