53 rescued, 5 still trapped after SW China coal mine accidents Posted: 27 Jul 2012 08:19 PM PDT 53 people have been rescued while five miners remain trapped in a coal mine after two tunnel collapses in southwest China?s Guizhou province. The disaster occurred Wendesday at Anlilai Coal Mine in Pu?an county. |
Beijing gov't builds temporary homes for Fangshan residents Posted: 27 Jul 2012 10:21 AM PDT The Beijing government is currently building thousands of temporary or "pre-fab" homes for residents in the southwestern Fangshan District. Fangshan suffered the worst of the flooding on July 21st, due to its proximity to the mountains. Fangshan residents have been told they can move in to the new accommodation within 10 days. |
