According to the All-China Women's Federation, China has around 10 million Alzheimer's sufferers, which accounts for around a quarter of the world's total. And that number increases at a rate of about 300000 each year. As the chances of Alzheimer's increase with age the problem is particularly severe in China where there is a rapidly aging population.

The report comes from the UN Conference on Trade and Development earlier this week. Director on Investment and Enterprise, Zhan Xiao-Ning said, it's mainly due to a 39.2 percent fall in FDI flow to the US, compared to a three percent decline in China. However, early indications show that FDI flows to the US might be stronger in the second half of 2012. The latest Global Investment Trends Monitor showed China attracted 59 billion in FDI while the US attracted 57.4 billion. Globally, the FDI stood at 668 billion dollars, dropping by eight percent over the same period of 2011. The report also showed that developing countries for the first time absorbed half of global FDI inflows.
