Posted: 07 Jun 2012 10:34 AM PDT

Nixon in China Music by JOHN ADAMS and Libretto by ALICE GOODMAN COMPANY PREMIERE John Adams' rhythmically rich re-creation of a presidential trip to Beijing has established itself as a great American opera, a work of "clarity, simplicity, shocking elegance" that "will be around for the long haul" (The New York Times). A quarter-century after premiering at Houston Grand Opera under the leadership of David Gockley, this modern masterpiece makes its long-awaited Bay Area stage premiere. Michael Cavanagh's "brilliantly effective" staging (Vancouver Sun) will feature Brian Mulligan, whose rich baritone thrilled audiences in San Francisco Opera's Faust (2010) and Werther (2010), in the title role. Lawrence Renes, whose conducting of Adams' Doctor Atomic won praise from London critics, will lead the orchestra. "What commands attention in the Nixon score is, quite simply, melody" (The New York Times). This year marks the 40th anniversary of Nixon's trip to China. Read an article by Kissinger adviser Winston Lord and journalist Leslie H. Gelb in The Daily Beast about this historic breakthrough event. Stuxnet virus created to attack China.

Posted: 01 Jun 2012 02:29 PM PDT

Stuxnet virus was an operation so large, it could only be done by a major government and several large corporations working in concert. Similar to the way the Kennedy assassination was so big it could have only been done by the Pentagon, CIA, ABC, CBS, NBC & the Republicans working in concert. Bush & Obama was behind the Stuxnet cyber attack on China & Iran. China has defended itself against the US by controlling its internet, to prevent US cyber attacks on China. Obama accelerated the attacks - codenamed "Olympic Games" - that began during the Bush administration, even after the Stuxnet virus caused cyber destruction around the world, the New York Times reported. China was the only country that the US attack did not harm, because China has several types of fire walls against the US spies. The Iranian plant was hit with a series of attacks After it took out Iran's facilities, the virus spread & wreaked havoc on hundreds of thousands of computers around the world, including Australia. But not in China. Obama asked whether the US should "shut this thing down" during a meeting with the CIA director, Leon E Panetta, and Vice President Joe Bidenm but despite the damage to Iran's plants and the huge collateral damage elsewhere, it was decided the attacks should continue. The attempt was reportedly the first time the US has used cyber weapons instead of military weapons to take out infrastructure that allows countries to wage war. Video of Chinese Female Astronaut In High School Released

Posted: 14 Jun 2012 10:17 PM PDT

"A video showing the female astronaut Liu Yang in high school class was released recently. In the video, Liu Yang, as a high school student,is demonstrating in English in front of her classmates." Additional Background Information:- Major Liu, 34, was named a hero in 2003 for calmly landing a jet after its right engine was crippled by a bird strike. On Saturday, she is expected to be named as one of the three-man crew of the Shenzhou 9 mission, China's first manned space flight since 2008. The 13-day mission will see the astronauts dock with the Tiangong-1, a space laboratory module that was launched last September and is now orbiting Earth. The team will test whether the module is functional, and whether it can efficiently recycle its oxygen and water. On board, Major Liu will have her own private bedroom, according to the Chinese state media, and will be allowed an extra ration of water for cleaning. Born in the central Chinese city of Zhengzhou, her school friends told the China Daily newspaper she was a good student and a keen volleyball player. After leaving high school she enrolled in a military aviation school in Changchun and then became first a cargo and then a fighter pilot. If the launch goes ahead as scheduled, it will be 49 years since the first woman in space, Valentina Tereshkova, a Russian described by the New York Times at the time as a "heavy-set parachutist" made her historic flight. Women from eight different countries have become astronauts.
